Issues We Support

Young Adulthood Pressures
In many instances, learning how to be comfortable with being who you are while navigating college, a first job, and relationships, both with self and others, can feel overwhelming. We help young women work to address issues relating to moving into the responsibilities of adulthood with clarity and self-compassion.
Perfectionism
Many young women and girls feel pressure to succeed and to never make a mistake—whether in school, a first job, extracurriculars, or relationships. Because perfect is inherently impossible, it can lead to large amounts of stress, anxiety and depression, and ultimately burnout. We help clients move from self-criticism to self-compassion while still striving for what matters most to them.
Severe Anxiety
When anxiety takes over, it can affect every aspect of daily life—feeling at times so overwhelming as to lead to clients initially viewing avoidance as their only option for coping. We help clients work with, rather than against, their anxiety to enable them to identify triggers, tolerate the discomfort, and develop effective coping skills, so worry no longer controls their decisions.
Depression
Depression can make even the simplest tasks feel impossible. Through therapy, we help clients understand and manage their emotions, break free from cycles of negative thinking, and regain motivation and joy.
Identity & Self-Worth
Many young women and girls struggle with self-worth and shame, questioning who they are and whether they are “enough” and then harshly criticizing themselves when they find themselves not measuring up. We help clients explore their values, build self-trust and shame resilience skills, and develop a stronger sense of who they are—so they can embrace not only being themselves, but also showing themselves the kindness they so often share more easily with others than themselves.
Social Anxiety
Friendships, social expectations, and group dynamics can feel overwhelming and out of reach, especially during the teen and young adult years. We help young women and girls develop tools to feel more at ease, communicate effectively, and build meaningful connections.
Body Image
Research shows us that body image and appearance are the #1 shame triggers for women and girls. From social media comparisons to societal pressures, most young women and girls struggle at some point in their lives to feel comfortable in their own bodies. We help clients develop a healthier relationship with their bodies, shift away from negative self-talk, and build confidence that isn’t based on appearance alone.
Life Transitions
Change is inevitable, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Whether it’s starting middle or high school, moving away for college, adjusting to a new job, or experiencing a major shift in relationships, we provide support to help clients develop the flexibility to adapt to all life’s chapters.
Relationship Struggles
Navigating all life’s different relationships—friends, romantic connections, family members, teachers, bosses (and on and on)—can often feel life walking a delicate tightrope. We help clients develop learn how to build trust, develop communication skills, set healthy boundaries, and build relationships that feel more supportive rather than totally draining.
Family Dynamics
Families are constantly growing and changing, and sometimes that comes with cycles of conflict and disconnection. We work with parents, siblings, and other members of support systems to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and foster deeper understanding.
Our Treatment Approach
We use evidence-based techniques and treatment modalities individually tailored to the unique experiences of our clients.
